CDF MY 2024: Bridging Future Talent with Innovation and Collaboration
On April 27th, 2024, Leave a Nest Malaysia hosted the 6th Career Discovery Forum Malaysia 2024 (CDF MY 2024) at RekaScape, Cyberjaya, with Cyberview as the Main Partner. Supported strategically by TalentCorp, the National Career Development Centre Association (NACDA) Malaysia, Bioeconomy Corporation, and Kabel, the event also boasted corporate partnerships with Innoqua Inc., Culta Inc., and Alphaswift. Further backing came from esteemed institutions like Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), UTeM Alumni, Career and Employability Centre (U-ACE), and more. The event drew 167 participants, including undergraduates, graduates, and researchers, alongside 22 participating companies, spanning startups and government agencies.
Following welcoming remarks by Mr. Ang Kah Heng, Cyberview’s Head of Innovation and Industry Development, Dr. Izwan from Leave a Nest Malaysia's Human Development Division delivered the opening address. Associate Professor Dr. Wan Zuhainis Saad, Director of UPM’s Centre of Academic Development and Leadership Excellence (CADe-Lead), delivered an insightful keynote on “The Power of Convergence: Harnessing Synergy at the Crossroads of Industries.” This set the stage for a dynamic forum session featuring panelists like Mr. Megat Fazrul Azlin Megat Abd Aziz (TalentCorp) and Shuhei Naoki (CULTA Inc.), exploring “Intersection Insights: Exploring the Interplay of Industries.”
Introducing two new segments, Career Talk and Career Development sessions, the event saw Ts. Dr. Madhavan Balan Nair (MYNext, TalentCorp) and Ms. Esther Low (Kabel) delivered insightful talks. The Career Development session, led by Dr. Rahmat Iskandar Shazi (ShazInnovation Solution) and Najmi Nazari (Pandai), was followed by a session where ten companies, including Innoqua Inc. and Alphaswift, briefed participants on their organizations and engaged in the “Validate Your Crazy Idea” session, facilitated by Leave a Nest Malaysia.
The “Validate Your Crazy Idea” session provided a platform for participants to pitch ideas and receive feedback from industry players, enhancing their career exploration journey. The event garnered positive feedback from companies and participants, underlining its success in fostering meaningful connections and career development opportunities.
